Electronics Assembly Foreman

We at Tellus Power North America manufacture turn key EV charging solutions for white label, fleet, and private customer needs that meet all Buy America and NEVI regulatory requirements. Due to a new niche in the North American manufacturing market through recent Buy America legislative compliance requirements, Tellus Power North America is the first North American-based subsidiary assembly plant for Tellus Power Ltd (based in Hong Kong). Due to the start-up nature and fast-paced timeline of this regulatory compliance endeavor, we are seeking to build out a nimble, capable, and robust team for our new Irvine, CA location. 


Position Summary

This role is an exciting opportunity for a motivated electronics assembly foreman interested in pioneering and improving the adolescent field of EV charging hardware and systems. We are looking for a self-motivated individual who is well-versed in electronic components and their assembly, and as such is able to use that knowledge in order to lead a successful and efficient electrical assembly plant team. This individual will oversee and coordinate the work of the entire electrical assembly team, including scheduling, training and adequate quality control checks. This individual will also help acquire new talent to the electrical assembly team as well as lead training and provide feedback to existing assembly employees.


They work with the team to ensure that all electrical assemblies are completed

accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable codes and standards. The candidate needs to

be schedule oriented and work with the utmost quality in mind.


Requirements and Qualifications

  • 5 years’ experience in electronic components assembly (Preferred)
  • Forklift Certified (Required)
  • Proven track record in a leadership or management position (Preferred)
  • Experience with electrical assembly tools and equipment (Required)
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints
  • Possesses a thorough understanding of electrical and safety codes and standards as well as the wherewithal to uphold those code and standards at all times
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and consistently meet deadlines
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and other software applications used in project management
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to identify opportunities for process improvement as well as the communication skills to document and relay said improvements


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the work of the electrical assembly team, including recruiting and training,  setting schedules, providing performance-based feedback, and closely monitoring the entirety of the assembly process
  • Work hands-on with the assembly team
  • Set and accomplish scheduling and cost priorities through liaising with other teams like engineering or design and quality testing
  • Collaborate closely with the procurement department to ensure that all required materials, parts, etc. are available for each scheduled assembly job
  • Maintain detailed records of all upcoming and completed assembly work, including quality control inspection reports and outcomes
  • Uphold all safety, OSHA, or CalOSHA procedures in order to ensure a safe working environment for all team members within the assembly plant
  • Develop and implement procedures with the goal of improving the efficiency and precision of the assembly process
  • Oversee and ensure that all assembled electrical equipment meets a high quality standard in compliance with all applicable codes and standards
  • Monitor and evaluate the state of all tools and equipment used in the assembly process in order to ensure they are in good working condition, are properly maintained, and are safe for employee use
